micromachines
MICROMACHINES is our legendary open jam series dedicated to compact creativity. Each month, we invite performers to bring a short (under 15-minute) set built around one small piece of hardware—think samplers, grooveboxes, synths, or other handheld rigs. Effects pedals and multiple devices are welcome, as long as your setup runs to a single stereo (L/R) output or you can submix yourself. Space is limited, so arrive early to sign up. And keep in mind that setup time is minimal—please come ready to plug in and go. Now, enough rules! Get weird!

MAson self, gloorp, Patrick Cleland
BOOM Club welcomes Mason Self, experimental percussionist and modular sorcerer from Asheville, NC, for a night of deep rhythmic inquiry. Known for sculpting hypnotic textures from drum skins and patch cables, Mason’s performance bends percussion into new shapes. Patrick Cleland opens the night and leads a hands-on workshop on Sensory Percussion—a powerful tool that turns your drums into expressive electronic instruments. Rounding out the bill is Philadelphia’s elemental Gloorp. Come ready to hit something.
